Goo Darts started as a fun exploration into a world influenced by the SCP Foundation, ultimately transforming into a story of a budding friendship. Drawing inspiration from the Razzie-nominated film, "The 6th Day," our mission was clear: to create Goo Darts as an exhilarating experience of wholesome, chaotic fun.
The journey of bringing this film to life was made possible by the remarkable Atlanta film community. Among our greatest champions stood Kick the Ladder, an extraordinary collective of filmmakers who gather weekly to showcase their one-minute creations, adhering to a set of rules determined by three rolled dice. It was within this vibrant community that I had the privilege of connecting with the exceptional cast and crew who contributed to Goo Darts. Their unwavering support, alongside the talent and dedication of my incredible friends and family, made this project a reality. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of them.

GOO FAQs
What was the casting process like for the film?
There wasn’t much of a casting process. I had everyone in mind while I was writing the script and to my luck, all of them were available and excited for the project. I was lucky enough to have worked with all of these amazing actors in some capacity, I knew what they were capable of and wrote to their strengths. By the time we got on set I had to give very little direction, I just had to build the world around them and let them inhabit it. They ran with it and brought these characters to life.
Who are some filmmakers or films that inspired you while making Goo Darts?
One that inspired me the most was The Sixth Day. Watching young Michael Rooker and Terry Crews hunt a Arnold Schwarzenegger clone was all the inspiration I needed.
Are there any behind-the-scenes stories from filming that you can share?
I screened the first cut of the film to some trusted collaborators. There was an overwhelming consensus that the beginning didn’t capture the fast paced and fun tone of the later parts of the film. It was a gradual ramp up when it needed to punch you in the face. With those notes, we went back and reshot an additional intro to show off who these characters really are and the comedic tone of the rest of the film. Also, it gave us the opportunity to better establish the geography of the world. I created fully CG drone shots that otherwise wouldn’t have been possible to shoot, showing the location of the guys in relation to the house.
What message do you hope audiences take away from the film?
Hopefully, people will give others a second chance. Maybe they will surprise you and rise to the occasion. Also, maybe we don’t clone people.
What can audiences expect from your next project?
Something in the same world. There are several more stories I want to explore with and without our sniper and scientist. We want to keep building and exploring the world of Goo Darts and what takes place at Command, hopefully expanding this into a series.
